2026 Scholarship Program Plan for Descendants of UN Korean War Veterans

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) are operating a scholarship program inviting one direct descendant of a Korean War veteran.

We are pleased to announce the selection of the 2026 Scholarship Program for Descendants of UN Korean War Veterans, and we kindly invite outstanding candidates to apply.

  • Number of recipients: Up to 1 person from the United States
  • Program details: One year of Korean language training + 2–4 years of a degree program at HUFS
  • Scholarship coverage: Full tuition for the Korean language program, admission fee, tuition, and dormitory fees
  • Personal expenses: Airfare and other living expenses
  • Eligibility: Foreign nationals whose both parents are non-Korean and who are direct descendants of a UN Korean War veteran

  • How to apply: Submit application documents to the HUFS International Admissions Team by Friday, November 21, 2025
  • Arrival in Korea: Late February 2026
