Korean American Education Foundation, INC
The Korean American Education Foundation was established in 1996 to promote Korean language and culture education in the United States. It is a non-profit corporation registered with the California state government on October 3, 1996, based on relevant U.S. laws. The Korean Education Center in Los Angeles concurrently performs secretariat functions such as operating the foundation's board of directors, educational business, accounting management and auditing, and tax payments in the United States.

Registration of KECLA (Korean Education Center, LA, INC), a non-profit corporation, to the California state government.
October 1999
Changed its corporate name to Korean Education Foundation, LA INC.
April 2000
KEFLA signed a contract with LA County to purchase the current building (680 Wilshire Pl. LA) with donations from the Korean American community and support from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea.
February 2002
The Korean Education Center in Los Angeles moved to the current building from the Korean Consulate General in LA.
November 2005
The corporate name changed to Korean American Education Foundation, INC (approved by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea per internal regulations)
June 2007
The Korean Education Center in Los Angeles was specified in the KAEF's internal regulations as the secretariat function of the KAEF.
December 2017
The Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea approved the appointment of the 11th Korean American Education Foundation board of directors.
March 2020
The Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea approved the appointment of the 12th Korean American Education Foundation board of directors.
March 2022
The Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea approved the appointment of the 13th Korean American Education Foundation board of directors.
March 2024
The Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea approved the appointment of the 14th Korean American Education Foundation board of directors.
